Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What impact will this have on you? Not only might you find a decline to your heating and cooling charges, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide variety of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first considering your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who will provide you with a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To accelerate the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the task and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad range of high-quality products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you fantastic window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Boone area home all the while.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The beauty of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you don’t have to. The windows can be customize to the color your want. We do not advise painting your vinyl products, as this will end your warranty. Some paint companies advertise that their paint can adhere to vinyl, but it could ruin your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We recommend that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the mix to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. Do not use glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could produce streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. We require them to complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are correctly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty standards. We find the best Boone-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Boone Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your renovation will have the strength of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Boone homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. Each of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with attention to detail and serviced by Pella’s certified Direct Sales Network. Unlike other manufacturers who sell exclusively through lumberyards or big box stores, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors stores throughout North America. This unique way of conducting business gives the homeowners in Boone a warm, personal experience with the assistance of a local to Boone, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
